The Last Drop Distillers: Auchentoshan Special 40yo Single Malt - Cask 1054

A VERY SPECIAL LOWLANDS Single Malt Scotch Whisky from a barrel which yielded on 72 bottles, it is with great pride that TLD present this 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Auchentoshan Distillery just outside Glasgow.

Perhaps it’s the triple distillation, which Auchentoshan has long been renowned for. Perhaps it’s something in their water, which is sourced from Loch Katrine, on the banks of which Sir Walter Scott sat and penned his classic The Lady of the Lake just a decade before the distillery was founded.

Perhaps, however, it’s a combination of these things, honed by two centuries of whisky artistry, allowed to age for four decades before TLD finally bottled it for you. One of our smallest releases, this is a very special bottle to be shared with the best of friends.
